How do I get started with PointsCard?
Sign up for free at my.pointscard.app, set up your reward program, and generate a QR code. Display it at your business and customers can start scanning immediately. Setup takes less than 5 minutes. On the Grow and Pro plans you can set multiple reward tiers per program (e.g. 10 points = free coffee, 25 points = $5 off).
Do I need a credit card to start?
No credit card required. The Solo plan is free for up to 100 customers per month. When you need more capacity or extra features (tiered rewards, leaderboards, referrals), you can upgrade to the Grow plan ($19.99/month, up to 1,000 customers) or Pro (unlimited customers).
How do customers scan the QR code?
Customers can scan your QR code with any smartphone camera. They don't need to download an app. Display the QR code on a tablet, print it, or show it on your screen.
Can staff scan from their phone?
Yes! Your staff can show the QR code on their phone and customers can scan directly from it. Perfect for busy counters or mobile businesses.
How do customers redeem rewards?
When customers have earned enough points for a reward tier, your staff scans the QR code on the customer's phone to verify and redeem. Points are deducted when they redeem (always deduct). Location verification ensures they're actually at your business.
Can customers choose a smaller reward instead of saving?
Yes—they can redeem available rewards anytime or keep saving for higher tiers.
What happens to points when a reward is redeemed?
Points are deducted based on the reward's cost (always deduct).
What happens if I exceed 100 customers on the free plan?
You can upgrade to the Grow plan ($19.99/month, up to 1,000 customers) or the Pro plan ($39.99/month, unlimited customers). All your existing data and customers are preserved when you upgrade.
Is my customer data secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted and secure. We never share customer information. Location verification helps prevent fraud and keeps your program honest.
Can I customize my rewards?
Yes. On the free Solo plan you get one reward program (e.g. 10 visits = free item). On the Grow and Pro plans you can set multiple reward tiers per program (e.g. 10 points = free coffee, 25 points = $5 off). Customers earn points (default 1 per visit) and can redeem when they reach a tier. You can also manually adjust points in your dashboard.
Can I import customers from another loyalty program?
Yes. You can import your existing customers into PointsCard easily. In your account, use the import option to upload a CSV with customer details (e.g. name, email, current points or visit count). Your customers keep their history and you can pick up where you left off without starting from zero.
